At Haven Baptist Church, we believe that discipleship is essential to the spiritual growth of The Church. During Sunday School, we encourage each other as we walk through life together. We focus on the attributes of God and the need for God’s grace. We desire to grow and learn each week as the Bible shows us of our great God.
We have Sunday School classes for all ages, from preschool through Adult, as well as nurseries for the youngest children that attend.
We are currently studying with The Gospel Project and Explore the Bible curriculum, which is available through LifeWay. It has been a great addition to our classes as we seek to learn more about the gospel from Genesis to Revelation and how to apply it each week. If you would like to learn more about this curriculum, you can find out more about it here.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a very important ministry for our church. Vacation Bible School (or VBS for short) takes place at the church generally Monday-Friday one week during the summer, although we do sometimes host Backyard Bible Clubs. VBS is a great time to learn more about God while having fun with friends. Our desire is to impact children and their families in the community with the gospel.
The Great Commission
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” — Matthew 28:18-20 ESV
Our church body takes the Great Commission very seriously. We believe that making disciples of all nations is something that all Christians are called to do. As such, we have several different ministries to various places around the world.
Mountain View Mobile Home Park
Haven actively ministers to Mountain View - a local Mobile Home Park - and to its residents. For several years, Haven continues to show God’s love to residents just across the street from our church campus. We have had meals with the residents, played volleyball, done service projects, and more as we seek to share the gospel to our neighbors.
We also have a partnership with Pablo Baptist Church in Montana. We have gone to Montana for two consecutive years as we minister to the Flathead Indian Nation and the surrounding community. Pablo Baptist is a very small church but they have a large vision for reaching their neighbors with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Over the past couple of years, we have partnered with Kelly and Erika Mitchell as they minister in Pablo. We hope to be an encouragement for the believers in Montana for years to come.
Our church family has also taken the gospel to West Africa for the past four years. The country of Senegal is predominately Muslim and very lost but they are open to hearing about Jesus. We go with the main focus of sharing Bible Stories that focus on God’s redemptive plan. While there, we have helped with physical needs that arise but our main goal and focus is on the overwhelming spiritual needs. The trips are tiring and the climate is uncomfortable but we find joy in taking the light of the gospel to those living in darkness.
